SOSciencesPo – About us

Last updated: November 2023

Who are we?

SOSciencesPo was created ten years ago by a handful of Sciences Po students who wanted to provide to candidates the help they themselves had been lacking during their application. Since then, our mission has been to help and encourage all those interested in Sciences Po. We fight against self-censorship and promote equality of chances. All of our help is free and based on the volunteering of students. No matter where you come from or where you want to go, SOSciencesPo is here for you!

For the year 2022-2023, SOSciencesPo counted more than 60 students involved in its organisation, from all campuses and all years of studies. In addition, hundreds of volunteers help us each year by mentoring binômes and answering all the questions of candidates. Do note that our association focuses solely on admission to Sciences Po’s Bachelor’s programme (Undergraduate college), as other help groups exist for Master’s admissions.

SOSciencesPo is divided into the six following teams:

  • The Exec which supervises all the activities and organises the rundown of the association
  • The « Creation team », in charge of creating visual content and online resources for all of our social media platforms and keeping our website up to date
  • The « Relations team » which answers all the candidates’ questions and helps with any problem they might encounter
  • The « Binômes team » which runs and oversees the buddy programme
  • The « High schools team » which meets high schoolers all around France to talk to them about Sciences Po and organizes online webinars as well as open livestreams aiming to inform potential applicants about Sciences Po.

Our 2023-2024 team!

What do we offer?

Our communication platforms

We help applicants for Sciences Po throughout all of the application process by answering all of their questions and doubts on our various social media platforms. High schoolers and parents alike use our Instagram and Facebook pages (see below) at all times of the year. In addition, we also have a FAQ page on our Website which answers some of the most commonly asked questions!

The binômes

Every year around October, our « Binômes team » launches a buddy program aiming to pair up one Sciences Po applicant with Sciences Po student. We make sure that the binômes corresponds to the candidate’s choice of campus and program. The student binôme helps its assigned candidate define their project, write their essays and prepare for the interview. They are also here to support and guide you throughout the whole year. In 2022-2023 only, we created more than 2586 binômes!

Getting ready for the interview

Each year, our team publishes a « Guide for the interview » a few weeks before results about admission to the next step – the interview – come out, to give candidates an idea of what to expect. You can find our 2023 Guide here! Several articles also exist on our Website to provide advice on how to best prepare for the interview. In addition, we provide all admissible students with the possibility of doing mock interviews with Sciences Po students.

Intervening in high schools

The twenty members of our « High School team » intervene in high schools all over France during the entire academic year. Those interventions can take place online and in real life, and serve to both introduce Sciences Po and provide advices to candidates on how to apply. The « High Schools Pole » also intervenes during the Open Days of all of our campuses to welcome prospective candidates. You can find more information about their activities on our Flyer here, as well see them in action on our pictures below.
